Throw Away 10 Pieces of Paper Immediately

April 8, 2010

It took me less than 20 seconds to find 10 pieces of paper to throw away. You can do it, too.

Throw Away 10 Pieces of Paper 001Instantly whittle down your paper pile by throwing away or recycling 10 pieces of paper from the list below.

1.  Old Undone “To-Do” that You May Have Written Down on Scrap Paper – chances are…your life will not end if you decide not to do this.  In fact, it will probably lighten your load.

2.  Empty Used Envelopes – like the one that your bills came in

3.  Advertisement that Arrived with the Bill

4.  Offers for Great New Services/Products – they usually come in the form of junk mail, such as, internet service providers, new cell phone offers, insurance sales letters

5.  Scrap Pieces of Paper that You Are Done With – old grocery list, directions to party

6.  Grocery Store Flyers

7.  Receipts for the Little Things – possibly, the receipt of the drink you purchased on your way home (unless needed for business expense or reconciling your checking account…if you do that)

8.  Movie Ticket Stubs

9.  Gum/Candy/Lozenges Wrappers

10.  Business Card of Person You Don’t Intend to Contact

11.  Paper Printed from Computer (Just thought I’d throw in an extra idea in case you couldn’t find 10 paper items from the list above.)

Now go!  Come back and tell me how fast your time was by clicking on the comment link below. :-)

Totally love this Melody! I found 15 pieces of paper on my desk alone that could be pitched.

Thanks!

OK I took the challenge. In about 5 or 10 minutes, I had thrown away more than 10 pieces of paper that was on my office chair (prob closer to 20). I also filed a document in the proper folder and removed everything off my chair.

This week I decided that everytime I passed through my office, I had to pick up at least one thing and put it in place (like hang that jacket up).

Thanks Melody. Keep the tips coming.
