Creative, Simple, & Beautiful Ideas to Attractively Display Holiday Greeting Cards

December 2, 2010

I went on a search of creative, beautiful, and simplicity when displaying holiday greeting cards.

How to Display Holiday Greeting Cards for Fun Viewing from Everyone

Here are my top 3 favorite finds (and two of them I’ve used with the same concept in mind!)

1. Martha Stewart takes the 1st place for beauty & creativity.  These are G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

2.  Real Simple gets 2nd place for simplicity.  I specifically love using the vertical ribbon display for my picture greeting cards.  Real Simple has a G-R-E-A-T video to explain this one.  Keep in mind that you can use your favorite ribbon and add a light weight Christmas theme flair at the top, like a beautiful red sparkly bow.

3.  HolidayCardHolders.com takes 3rd place for simplicity and ease.  It’s so easy because you only need to purchase the wiry picture (or greeting card) holder thingy. (great description, uh?)  I’ve used this style display on several occasions.  Plus, you can use this year round to display photos.  They have other wire styles available, too.

There are so many creative ideas that are absolutely fabulous.  I lean to the simple, easy, elegant side of the creative chart.

AFTER HOLIDAY SEASON GREETING CARD STORAGE TIP:

After the Holiday Season, you may choose to discard your greeting cards and store your picture cards in a Christmas album that can be displayed and added to year after year.

Keep the addressed envelopes to update or add contact information to your address list.  Have this done by the time you pack away your decor.  You’ll be prepared to get your own greeting cards out with less fuss next year.

What do you think about these ideas?  Does one of them appeal to you?  Tell me in the comment section below. Feel free to add your own favorite ideas, too.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Melody:

I stopped sending Christmas cards a couple of years ago except to a few relatives. Digital sending of photos and communication seems to take care of most people throughout the year that the annual card sending seems to have died off largely.

But I do keep all my cards from one year and use them as the basis for my next year’s list. That way I don’t offend anyone and keep up the relationships with those who still prefer the traditional way, which I agree is much more aesthetic.

I usually just stand my cards up but get so frustrated with those single sheet photo cards and the ideas you have above would be just perfect for those which otherwise just slip around flat and you can’t see them!

Hey Alison,

I agree that sending and receiving greeting cards is not like it used to be.

Many of my clients do what you do – keep cards until the next year, as a basis for next year’s list. I used to do the same thing;-) It’s easier to discard them after you’ve had them for a year, too.

Glad you found a perfect way to “see” all your greeting cards. Happy Holidays!

Some very effective and creative ideas there, even card retailers could do with some help with their displays in this way.
