‘Tis the season for marketing your home for sale.
So, you better knock out your competition. Your competitors are those owning homes that are at a comparable value point that your potential buyers are going to be checking out, too.
You are responsible for creating an environment that gives the potential buyer a glimpse of what it will feel like to live in your home. Only, it can’t feel like it’s your home to them. Often, the buyer will not make a strong connection if it is filled with all of your stuff.
Tons of buyers are making decisions based on the home being large enough to accommodate their basic belongings, as well as, space to think clearly, be creative, and comfortably entertain guests. Today’s society seems to consist of people who want instant gratification. They want what they want, with as little work & hassle as possible. Who doesn’t want the easy way? I bet you can relate.
Buyers will start narrowing down choices and I want yours to be in the line-up.
3 Tips to Knock Out Your Competition & Sell Your Home Faster!
1. Ask your Realtor what’s the best investment of your money when considering any sprucing up. Here’s a link to a local Lake Charles Realtor website with many tips that I 100% agree with & advise you to do. Here’s another great tip from Chad Milton, a Realtor in the Baton Rouge area.
2. Rock out your closets! Replace mismatched hangers with a consistent style hanger. It doesn’t matter if they are wooden, clear plastic, or even all the same color tubular plastic. A consistent style hanger instantly creates a visually appealing and orderly look. Also, line your shoes up on a shelf or rack. Remove all items from the closet floor. If you want a quick assessment of tweaking your closet, then let’s have a Closet Chat session. Closets can make or break a sale.
3. Pre-pack 1/3 to 1/2 of the items in your home. Are you questioning me? Just do it. If you are already a minimalist, then simply remove any clutter that may be hanging around. While you are peeking in your cabinets, tidy them up. Remove any items that are making an area, cabinet, or any space in your home feel cramped. The big goal is to have extra open space available. Clean out your corners, too, because it instantly makes a room appear larger. You may leave a plant there because you will still see the corner through the foilage.
Give the potential buyer a glimpse of what it can be like to live comfortably in your home, then you are instantly in the competition. Once they start envisioning their belongings in your closets, cabinets, and other storage areas, then you’ve just knocked your competition down. That’s the importance of open space in all your storage areas. Storage sales.
Now, go clear out enough space to knock out your competition.
