3 Ways to Determine If Your Organizational Systems Pass the Easy-to-Use & High Functioning Test

January 24, 2012

Organizational systems can be found throughout your entire home – from the closets, to the cabinets, to the laundry area, to the bathroom, to the home office, to the car, and even in the outside areas.  When your systems are extremely EASY to use, plus organized in a high functioning way, then inspiration to use them and keep them in tip-top shape becomes effortless.

As professional women, and especially as women entrepreneurs, keeping your home feeling fresh, inspiring, and flowing is so, So, SO important to keep your spirits high and all that good energy radiating to your clients.  If you were your own client, isn’t that the type of person you’d choose to work with?  Without a doubt, that’s the person I’d choose!

So, let’s make sure your potential clients are picking YOU!

3 Ways to Determine If Your Organizational Systems Pass the Easy-to-Use & Highly Functional  Test

1.  Does your system flow from point A to point Z?

Whether you are prepping for a day with clients, caring for your laundry, or enjoying a late-evening steamy shower, when your system is set up to follow a certain order, then each action can take you effortlessly to the next action.   As a matter of fact, you can think of your systems as RITUALS!   Make sure your “clear the desk” ritual or “client prep” ritual is enjoyable.  And at the end of it, you can easily do it again because it was flowing from A to Z.

2.  Are your items easy to access?

Items should be easy to access.  Period.  Okay, with the exception of rarely used items or seasonal items, like off-season clothing, home decor, or archived tax documents.   No more fighting with other stuff to grab what you need, instead arrange items where you can easily locate, touch, and use them.  I want to hear you ooohhhhing, ahhhhing and LOVING how organized and easy it is to do what you need to do…in every single space of your home (especially your office workspace!).

3.  Are the items in your system part of your regular ritual?

Whenever excess items in an area slow you down, then the system doesn’t pass the high-functioning test.  This week take a look at some of your regular rituals, like the way you process your mail or prepare your lunch.   Are your rituals super easy and do they flow extremely well?  They definitely can.

If you find that some of your systems aren’t up to par, then give them a little TLC.   Every ritual you go through can feel fabulous and done with tons of ease.  All you have to do is set yourself up and allow it…

May you have many rituals you absolutely adore,
